Preschoolers in Mr. Scott and Ms. Levin’s classes have been reading the classic, Corduroy. I thought Corduroy presented the perfect opportunity to reinforce our new-found gluing skills as well as explore the bumpy, itchy, silky, soft, world of texture.
Our youngest Maury artists apply texture to Corduroy. Strong paper cords for his overalls, red felt for his mattress, and brown velvet for his fur.
All smiles while painting with glue over Corduroy’s eyes and mouth. It made my day to hear this student laugh as I did my best bear impression, “Oh no, my eyes! They’re glued shut! Help!”
Not too shabby for an old bear with a missing button!
